Wildine Aumoithe, originally from Haiti, shines once again in the world of fashion by winning her second title Guinness World Records as the world’s shortest professional model in December 2023.

According to the announcement of Guinness World Records, after showing during New York Fashion Week in 2021, Wildine Aumoithe confirmed her position as the holder of the title of the shortest non-mobile woman in the world, thus winning a second world record in 2023 as the world’s shortest professional model.

Wildine, who is just 72cm tall, attracted attention at the “Runway of Dreams: A Fashion Revolution” event, hosted by former NFL player Shaquem Griffin. The event brought together 70 models with varying backgrounds and disabilities, reports Guinness World Records.

“Runway of Dreams is a charity that gives confidence to people with disabilities by allowing them to express themselves through fashion and beauty,” said Wildine, quoted by Guinness World Records.

“It was an iconic moment for me because I am the first Guinness World Records title holder to attend New York Fashion Week,” she revealed.

Sporting an outfit from Target’s adaptive clothing line, as well as an adaptive shoe from Billy Footwear, she said she thoroughly enjoyed the experience, reports Guinness World Records.

“I really enjoyed the experience, meeting some of the models, the people hosting the show and other people in attendance,” she said.

“As I walked down the podium, I didn’t realize how many people were actually there, but I loved it,” she exclaimed.

Size is just a number

According to Guinness World Records, Wildine suffers from an extremely rare form of dwarfism called Saddan dysplasia, which has forced her to use a motorized wheelchair to get around.

“I honestly never thought I would be doing New York Fashion Week,” she said. “It was all unreal for me.”

The main reason she decided to become a model, she explained, was her feeling that the industry lacked diversity.

“I also wanted to inspire people with dwarfism by showing them that they can do anything,” she added. “Size is just a number.”

According to Wildine’s statements to Guinness World Records, she achieved the title of shortest non-mobile living woman in 2021, at the age of 18, which marked a turning point in her life.

She is currently continuing her studies in graphic design in her second year, having redirected her initial career ambitions, as she explained.

“I just felt like I was more interested in the arts than the medical field,” she said.

The Haitian is also proud of her participation in the documentary on the tallest living woman in the world, Rumeysa: Walking Tall, broadcast in streaming since December 21, 2023, exclusively on Rakuten TV, reports Guinness World Records.

The winner also shared her plans for 2024, including continuing her studies, her involvement in modeling and her upcoming travels.

“It was my first visit to New York,” she revealed. “For 2024, I hope to continue getting more modeling contracts and collaborating with more brands.”

“As for travel, I will be attending the 2024 National Short People Convention in Baltimore, Maryland,” she said.
