48 hours after the armed attacks against the national penitentiary and the Croix des Bouquets civil prison, the inhabitants of the capital and its surroundings are on alert. Armed gangs are not in the streets but automatic weapons fire is ringing out. We feel the panic.

In Pétion Ville and Delmas, for example, traffic remained fluid throughout the day and the few businesses that had opened their doors quickly lowered their curtains. This is the same situation in Center Ville, Croix-des-Bouquets and Croix-des-Missions.
Since Saturday evening several thousand detainees including gang members have escaped, following the attack by armed bandits.
The gangs vow to remove Ariel Henry from power.

Prime Minister Ariel Henry has still not returned. He was on a trip to Kenya to sign an agreement with the authorities of this country as part of the deployment of
Security support mission in Haiti.
