Violent clashes took place in the middle of the day on Monday March 4, 2024, near Toussaint Louverture International Airport. These armed combats brought together armed civilians who campaign to control the space and the police who , on the other hand, fought back, to push them back.
THE HAITI FACTOR, March 4, 2024._Armed civilians targeted Toussaint Louverture International Airport, located in Clercine, in the Municipality of Tabarre, on Monday March 4, 2024.
The latter, being at a distance, spent hours exchanging fire with the police and other security agents ensuring the security of the space.
Many installations affected by projectiles were damaged again, as was the case on Thursday February 29, 2024. At least one plane located on the airport tarmac was hit by bullets, the agency confirms.
In the process, police officers and other security agents working at the Airport resisted gang attacks before the arrival of Haitian Army soldiers as reinforcements.
They came together to thwart the attempt to take space hostage by armed civilians.
Armed bandits besieged the perimeters of Toussaint Louverture Airport following rumors relating to a possible landing of the de facto Prime Minister, Ariel Henry.
