Two individuals were arrested by the Gonaïves Police for their involvement in a case of kidnapping and rape
The police institution informed through a note that agents of the Gonaïves Police proceeded, on Wednesday May 8, 2024, to the arrest of Jerry Carra and Destin Jackson, for their alleged involvement in the kidnapping followed by sequestration of ‘a young lady, aged 19.
Confirming that they committed this kidnapping during their hearing, the named Jerry Carra and Destin Jackson also admitted that they had demanded a ransom of 200 thousand US dollars from the victim’s family in exchange for his release.
“Of this sum, an amount of 50 thousand American dollars, as well as another part in gourdes, have already been paid by the family of the young lady” underlines the note of the PNH.
The police institution specifies in its note that the alleged kidnappers also confessed that they raped the victim. They are placed in police custody while awaiting the necessary legal action.
