Belle-Anse: recovery of a firearm from the Haitian National Police and lynching of an individual by the population.

The South-East Police carried out an operation this Sunday, June 2, 2024, in the 2nd municipal section of Mare-Briole in Belle-Anse, marked by the recovery of a pistol belonging to the police institution. The firearm was in the possession of Wilson St-Victor, captured by the local population and subsequently lynched, the PNH reported in a note.

When he was captured, Wilson St-Victor tried to escape by shooting into the crowd, injuring a 26-year-old citizen in the foot. In response, the residents, furious, lynched him.

Alerted to the incident, the Police quickly intervened to restore order and recover the weapon. The victim injured in the foot is currently being treated in a hospital center, indicated the note from the PNH.
