BNC File: Based on the presumption of innocence, the EDE party supports Smith Augustin

The EDE party supports the Presidential Advisor, Smith Augustin accused in an act of corruption by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the BNC.

In a letter signed by Sterline Civil addressed to the Departmental Secretaries and Deputy Departmental Secretaries of the Engagés pour le Développement (EDE) party, the General Secretariat of EDE, based on the presumption of innocence, gives its support to Presidential Advisor Smith Augustin accused by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the BNC, Raoul Pascal Pierre-Louis in an act of corruption.

It should be recalled that in a letter dated July 26, 2024, to the Secretary General of the EDE party, Sterline Civil, Departmental Secretaries and Deputy Departmental Secretaries near the National Political Bureau of the party Committed to Development (EDE) had dissociated themselves from Presidential Advisor Smith Augustin, while demanding his withdrawal from the Presidential Transitional Council.

A decision that was taken after having taken note of the correspondence of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the BNC to Prime Minister Garry Conille, reporting behavior similar to an act of corruption that would involve members of the Presidential Transitional Council, including the representative of EDE, Mr. Smith Augustin.
