The appointment of Doctor Garry Conille as Prime Minister of the transition is welcomed by Caricom and the United States
Reactions rain down after the appointment of the doctor Garry Conille to the post of Prime Minister of the transition by the members of the Presidential Transitional Council. Through a note dated May 29, 2024, the heads of government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) welcome the appointment of Dr. Conille.
“The unanimous election of Dr. Garry Conille by the Transitional Presidential Council, following a selection process with candidates from several stakeholder sectors, constitutes another important step on the path to free and fair elections and of the return to constitutional order in Haiti”
Caricom expresses its support for the new Prime Minister-designate and reiterates its commitment to support the Presidential Transitional Council and the Haitian people. She said she looked forward to the rapid completion of the process to formally establish the transitional governance institutions, in accordance with the agreement of March 11, 2024.
In addition to Caricom’s congratulatory words, on his X account, Matthew Miller, spokesperson for the American State Department announced that the United States also welcomes the choice of Doctor Garry Conille as Prime Minister of the transition.

It should be noted that after being chosen by the CPT as Prime Minister to lead the transitional government, on his X account, Doctor Garry Conille presented his words of thanks to civil society organizations, political structures as well as members of the diaspora for putting his name forward for this position.
