The president of the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT), Edgard Leblanc Fils, and the advisor-president Emmanuel Vertilaire met on Thursday June 6, 2024 with representatives of “Haïti Matters”, an NGO based in Northern Ireland, as well as those of the Haitian organization Lakou Lapè.

Discussions mainly focused on the possibility of establishing a partnership between the Government of Northern Ireland and Haiti to address the issue of conflict resolution. This collaboration would aim to share strategies and successful experiences in managing social and political tensions.

This potential partnership could represent a significant step in strengthening Haiti’s capacities in conflict management, drawing on methods proven in Northern Ireland. Discussions will continue to define the terms of this cooperation.
