The former head of Protocol at the Prime Minister’s office, Fritz Dougé, has died.

Through a publication on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 on his X account, former Prime Minister Jack Guy Lafontant confirmed that Ambassador Fritz Dougé, former head of Protocol of several Haitian governments, died after a long and impressive career.

“Our unforgettable Chief of Protocol leaves a legacy of a State culture and an almost infallible vision of the Protocol. The political and diplomatic world is in mourning. The State and the Fatherland owe him a debt of gratitude” continues Mr. Lafontant.

This news was also confirmed on the Facebook account of the former member of Pétion-Ville, Patrick Brutus who stressed that this sad news had the effect of wildfire, creating a shock wave beyond there Prime Minister. “It is the state protocol which has just lost one of its monuments,” confided the former parliamentarian.

Fritz Dougé, who was assigned to the Haitian Embassy in Qatar as minister-counsellor, left his mark on the minds of the Prime Minister’s workers as well as his entourage. His departure has certainly left a big void in the Prime Minister’s family.
