Former Prime Minister Claude Joseph was gassed by the police during a protest in front of the Prime Minister’s office in Musseau, in Port-au-Prince, early in the afternoon this Monday, February 5, 2024, the newspaper reports in Radiography line.

In a tense political climate, Claude Joseph tried to push his predecessor, Ariel Henry, to resign, accusing him of not having resolved inherited security problems.

The demonstration took an unexpected turn with the intervention of the police, who had also gassed a search in front of the Prime Minister’s office the day before.

As a result, the demonstration was interrupted prematurely, leaving activists scattered in the streets of Bourdon, where some decided to demonstrate their discontent by burning tires on public roads.

Note that this Monday, February 5, 2024 is marked by demonstrations and civil unrest in several Haitian cities, with protesters calling for the departure of Prime Minister Ariel Henry.
