Switzerland achieved a feat by qualifying for the quarter-finals of Euro-2024 by beating defending champion Italy 2-0 in the first round of 16 in Berlin. Goals from Remo Freuler (37th) and Ruben Vargas (46th) allowed the Nati to reach this milestone for the second consecutive time in this competition. The next challenge for Switzerland will be England, who eliminated Slovakia 2-1 after extra time on Sunday in Gelsenkirchen. This match will take place on July 6 in Düsseldorf.
Germany also booked their place in the quarter-finals by beating Denmark 2-0 at home, despite a 25-minute interruption due to a violent storm. Kai Havertz (53rd sp) and Jamal Musiala (68th) scored for the Mannschaft, who will face Spain on July 5 in Stuttgart. Tomorrow Tuesday 2 July, Romania will play from noon against the Netherlands in Munich and Turkey will face Austria in Leipzig at 3 PM.
