Irony of history: Barely 24 hours after the tragic events that occurred on the night of June 29-30 in Delmas 32 and in the Christ-Roi neighborhood, where journalist Diego Charles and political activist Antoinette Duclair lost their lives, the interim director general of the Haitian National Police, Léon Charles, already claims to have identified the assassins.

Thursday June 29, 2021 ((rezonodwes.com)) – Feminist and political activist Antoinette Duclair (Netty) as well as Vision 2000 journalist Diego Charles were shot and killed in Delmas 32/Christ Roi (Acacia).

These young personalities were shot dead in the middle of the night in a Mazda vehicle near the journalist’s private residence.

Around 11 people were murdered by armed individuals traveling on motorcycles in this area, during the night of June 29 to 30, 2021.

Amnesty International said on 6 August 2021 that the families of journalist Diego Charles and activist Antoinette Duclair, both murder victims, are facing death threats and intimidation. The organization is calling on the Haitian authorities to ensure their protection and to fully investigate the killings.

However, three years later, it seems that this case has been relegated to the background by the Tèt Kale 3 leaders, who dealt a fatal blow to the Haitian judicial system by appointing nine individuals to the Court of Cassation without any legality and constitutional norms.
