Two talents emerge in the European Union Blog/Vlog competition in Haiti.

The European Union in Haiti recently crowned two winners of the blog/vlog contest. This contest aimed to promote the expression of young Haitians on crucial topics such as the environment, gender and violence.

The ten finalists shared captivating texts and videos over three weeks, addressing various themes. Among them, Garenchana Jean-Pierre and Ruth Dharwina Valmyr were distinguished for the quality and depth of their publications.

Garenchana Jean-Pierre, 24, is an actress, storyteller, photographer and activist. She stood out with her poignant thoughts on mental health. Ruth Dharwina Valmyr, 27, a political science student, feminist and activist, has attracted attention with her writings on human rights, particularly those of women. Each winner will receive a bonus of 800 USD in electronic equipment credit offered by the European Union.

The competition was welcomed by Stefano Gatto, ambassador of the European Union to Haiti, who stressed the need to promote freedom of expression among young Haitians, encouraging them to continue to make their voices heard on issues that concern them .

The contributions of the ten participants are available in a digital collection on the Facebook page of the Delegation of the European Union to Haiti. Other participants included Schebna Bazile, Shelsy Dice, Xaviera Raphaëlla Élie, Djekly Fortune, Ertha Elissa Mingot, Stanley Mazile, Guerlande René and Rachina Vilsaint.
