After the Transitional Presidential Council chose Gary Conille to play the role of head of the transitional government, yesterday, Tuesday, March 28, 2024, the former Prime Minister under Michel Martelly’s power reacted.
In a post on the X account (previously on Twitter), Dr. Gary Conille stated that he feels honored because members of the Presidential Council have chosen him to hold the post of Prime Minister in the transitional power.
“I feel very honored that the Presidential Council has chosen me as the new Prime Minister of Haiti,” said Conille.
In the publication, he took the opportunity to thank all organizations in civil society, political parties, and members of the diaspora who proposed his name among other candidates in the process of choosing the country’s new Prime Minister.

We must remember that the choice of Gary Conille for the post of Prime Minister of the transitional power is made after the members of the Presidential Council have questioned all the candidates, each one by himself, in the Villa d’accueil. Gary Conille, who was not in the country at the time of the hearings, answered the CPT’s questions via videoconference.
The CPT announced, in a communiqué, that Councilor-president Régine Abraham and Laurent Saint-Cyr were the only Councilors who did not participate in the hearing because they were not in the country at the time.
The council said it will work with the new Prime Minister to select members of the cabinet.
In conclusion, the CPT renews its determination to do everything possible to solve the problem of insecurity and achieve good quality elections.
