Haiti – FLASH: The Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy vandalized and looted

On the night of Saturday April 20 to Sunday April 21, 2024, heavily armed individuals vandalized and looted the premises of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy (FMP) of the State University of Haiti (UEH), in the city center from Port-au-Prince.
The Rectorate of the State University of Haiti (RUEH) underlines in a denunciation note « […] the damage remains to be assessed. However, they risk being simply unsustainable. According to initial information, it was noted that almost all of the institution’s solar panels and electrical equipment, cafeteria equipment and several service vehicles were stolen.
The Rectorate joins the deanship of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy to denounce and vehemently condemn these acts of vandalism and looting against this heritage represented by this entity of the UEH which has trained and continues to train health professionals high level serving all segments of the population.
