A thick sand mist is influencing weather conditions across the Caribbean Basin this Friday, July 26, 2024. According to the Haitian Weather Service forecast, this sand mist is bringing foggy weather that reduces visibility with gusts over Haiti.
Indeed, a veiled and densely foggy sky has been visible over Port-au-Prince since this morning. This phenomenon is due to the sand mist that characterizes the weather conditions in the central and eastern part of the Caribbean basin, the Hydrometeorological Unit of Haiti (UHM).
The foggy weather and gusty winds are expected to continue throughout the weekend, the UHM said in its latest bulletin, noting that the sky will be cloudy in the late afternoon and evening.
In addition, the UHM reports that “the heat wave is expected to persist in Haiti” over the weekend.
“Strong feeling of heat throughout the day and evening,” announces the UHM in its latest issue on weather conditions in Haiti.
The maximum temperature could climb to 38 degrees Celsius while the minimum varies between 22 and 28 degrees Celsius.
