Hati-Mto: Tropical waves moving in the Antilles, but no threat for the moment

Forecast for the weekend of July 5-7, 2024

Tropical wave 17, having crossed the Lesser Antilles on Thursday, will affect the island of Hispaniola (Haiti and Santo Domingo) in the coming hours, causing significant rainfall. The transformation of this wave into a cyclonic phenomenon in the next seven days is now ruled out.

As for tropical wave 18, it should reach the Antilles from next Sunday. At this stage, no development into a cyclonic phenomenon is expected for the next seven days.

Forecast for Haiti

We will have a rather cloudy sky with scattered thunderstorms. A few showers are possible late in the day or during the night. The chance of rain is: 60%.

It will be a bit warm, with a maximum temperature reaching 32 degrees Celsius (89.6 degrees Fahrenheit) during the day, while the minimum temperature is estimated at 25 degrees Celsius (77 degrees Fahrenheit) at night.

Winds will be blowing from the EAST at a speed of 14 km/h, and the humidity will be around 68%. The sun will rise at 6:17 AM and set at 7:30 PM.

As for sea conditions, the sea will be calm, with waves less than a metre high.
