At the installation of the Presidential Council at the Villa d’accueil, in Musseau, on Thursday April 25, 2024, Youri Latortue and Joseph Lambert were present. The two men created a surprise, since they were hit by international sanctions for collusion with armed gangs in Haiti, the two friends had kept a low profile. In fact, they had opted for the card of silence.
Against all expectations, the two former presidents of the Senate of the Republic, Joseph Lambert and Youri Latortue, were among the guests at the installation of the Presidential Transitional Council. They therefore rubbed shoulders with the diplomatic representatives of the countries who sanctioned them for their involvement in fueling the climate of insecurity in Haiti, by being accomplices of armed bandits.
Their presence at the CP inauguration is interpreted by some observers as a “comeback” on the political scene. Nothing surprising since in Haiti the executioners of yesterday always manage to become saviors of the day. Let’s wait and see…
