BSAP agents remain in solidarity with the director of the National Agency for Protected Areas (ANAP), Jeantel Joseph, and are ready to force Prime Minister Ariel Henry to resign from power.

Lhe de facto Prime Minister Ariel Henry has just removed Jeantel Joseph, director general of the National Agency for Protected Areas (ANAP), who directs the agents of the Protected Areas Surveillance Brigade (BSAP).

What will be the outcome of this revocation which clearly illustrates that the Prime Minister feels threatened and is playing everything to save his back and retain the ill-gotten power that the people are asking him to hand over?

Ariel has just committed an attack not only against the BSAP but also against the people who, since the construction of the irrigation canal on the Massacre River, have been in alliance with Jeantel Joseph.

Is it not obvious to remember that the confrontation between Ariel and Jeantel had started over the construction of the canal. When the Minister of the Environment, James Cadet, declared in a correspondence to Jeantel “the presence of BSAP agents represents a threat to national security.” This was clearly a way for Prime Minister Ariel to force the demobilization of BSAP agents who are monitoring the construction of the canal on the Massacre River. Unpopular project that Jeantel categorically refused while taking advantage of denouncing it as an act of treason by the government towards the people and the country in particular.

Since then, there has been a cold war between the government and the leadership of the BSAP that the presence of Guy Philippe in alliance with the people will contribute to further degenerate. And in the same vein, the BSAP itself following its active participation on the Canal began a loving relationship with the Haitian population and even the diaspora which gave it great support. In this sense, Ariel himself did not accelerate the movement of his failure by putting oil in the running engine of the revolution.

The population’s reproach to the government, why then, it leaves in peace the gangs which terrorize them, assassinate them, kidnap them and go all out to put an end to the agents of the BSAP who with their limited means bring their active solidarity to the popular masses?

At the time when the de facto government published in the country’s official newspaper, The monitorthe order terminating the service of the director of the National Agency for Protected Areas (ANAP), Jeantel Joseph, the latter was in the streets of Hinche in the middle of a huge crowd of demonstrators, accompanied by agents of the BSAP, demanding the departure of Prime Minister Ariel Henry by calling on him to resign before February 7, 2024. Furthermore, a commission composed of five members was set up by the de facto power to restructure the agency.

In several cities across the country, the BSAP is entering into open rebellion against the government and is currently demonstrating with weapons in their hands in the streets of the country.

Furthermore, large popular demonstrations have been announced for Wednesday January 24, 2024 in several cities in the country as well as in the capital, Port-au-Prince.
