July 4, 1975: Father Carl Edward Petersin 1960, in a work entitled La Croix contre l’Asson, he himself took stock of the anti-superstitious campaign known as the “rejected” in which, as a missionary, he actively participated.
It shows how this campaign delivered the country from Satan, honored in voodoo, but also how it represented for the Church an operation of cleansing and purification of the Catholic cult. Appointed auxiliary bishop of Les Cayes on October 17, 1966, he was transferred to the new diocese of Jérémie on April 20, 1972. On his death, he was replaced by Bishop Willy Romeus.
