June 6, 1924: creation of the General Directorate of Taxes. Louis Borno, in order to rationalize Haitian public finances, promulgated the law of June 6, 1921 creating the General Administration of Contributions, which would later become the General Directorate of Taxes (DGI).

June 6, 2016: the Provisional Electoral Council (Cep) publishes a new electoral calendar which runs from May 31, 2016 to April 2, 2017. This new calendar is the result of a report from the Independent Electoral Evaluation and Verification Commission (CIEVE) which had recommended resuming the controversial 2015 presidential election as well as the review of several dozen sentences handed down by the Electoral Disputes Offices.

June 6, 2017 : the president of the Cep, Léopold Berlanger, announces the upcoming holding of indirect elections with a view to the establishment of territorial assemblies. These had never before been organized since the promulgation of the 1987 Constitution.

June 6, 1985: Partial revision of the 1983 constitution. Under strong international and internal pressure, the government of Jean-Claude Duvalier decided to modify the Constitution of August 27, 1985 by inserting, among other things, clauses relating to the creation of a post of a prime minister and by legalizing political pluralism. The presidency for life was maintained. Jean-Claude Duvalier would be overthrown a few months later to put an end to the dictatorship started by his father in 1957.
