On Wednesday, December 6, 2023, the Olympique Lyonnais Club announced through a note the absence from the field of Haitian star Melchie Dumornay for several weeks due to an ankle injury after she suffered a surgery Tuesday.
“Olympique Lyonnais informs that its midfielder, Melchie Dumornay, underwent surgery on Tuesday. Weakened in the ankle, the Haitian international will be away from the field for several weeks,” we read in the press release published on the Olympique Lyonnais website.
The press release did not give details regarding the duration of absence of the Haitian footballer, however the club reassured that it will do everything possible to recover the player in the best conditions in order to guarantee her return to the game. The club will do everything possible to ensure that its player recovers in the best conditions and wishes her a speedy recovery,” team officials wrote in the press release.
Remember that Melchie Dumornay suffered this injury following a tackle received during the match against Montpellier. She subsequently missed the first match of the Champions League group but was lined up the following weekend against Dijon before the Olympique Lyonnais coach announced that she would miss several weeks of competition.
