At the initiative of the Haitian Embassy in France, Mikaben will posthumously receive the French Senate medal this Thursday, May 30, 2024 in France.

Died tragically on October 15, 2022 during a concert with the group CaRiMi at the Accor Arena in Paris, Mikaben will be honored during a special ceremony. This distinction will be presented in the presence of his parents and the Ambassador of Haiti to France.

Established in 2011 by the Senate and awarded by the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs since 2014, this medal aims to recognize Mikaben’s musical influence.

The ceremony will also provide an opportunity for those close to Mikaben to pay tribute to his memory by sharing anecdotes and memories of his life and career, thus celebrating his artistic legacy.

Recall that the late Haitian singer Michael Benjamin, better known as Mikaben, was honored posthumously during the 8th edition of the Gala Dynastie, which was held at the Théâtre Maisonneuve at Place des Arts in Montreal on Saturday 27 last April 2024.
