Normil Rameau was officially appointed new acting director general of the Haitian National Police (PNH) this Wednesday, June 19, 2024, by a decree published in the monitor. Rameau replaces Frantz Elbé in this position who would also have a temporary role.
A decree published in the official newspaper of the Republic, Le Moniteur, this Wednesday, June 19, formalizes Normil Rameau as the new acting director general of the Haitian National Police (PNH), following a meeting of the council of ministers.
Normil Rameau thus takes over the reins of the PNH, a position he had already held under the administration of Jovenel Moïse, at the time when Joseph Jouthe was Prime Minister. His past performances were then publicly criticized by Jouthe.
Normil Rameau, from the fourth promotion of the Haitian National Police (PNH), has already worked at the General Inspectorate, the General Directorate, the Criminal Affairs Brigade, and the UCREF among others.
