In a note published by NuTV, a private company providing Pay Digital Television services announces that it is obliged to end the retransmission of its programming from May 31.

This decision specifies that this company, owned by Digicel at more than 50%, is taken because of the “degrading situation” in the country which prevents them from providing quality services.

The digital pay television market in Haiti is shared mainly by four operators. These are CanalSat, Télé Haïti, PayTV and NuTV.

This market has been considerably reduced following the departure of a good number of Haitians for abroad as a result of the climate of insecurity created by armed criminal gangs.

Operational instability continues to knock on the doors of Haitian businesses. This appears to be one of the prices to pay when refusing to engage in dubious transactions with armed criminal gangs protected by powerful hands.
