Right in his boots, the president of the transition, Edgard Leblanc fils, promised to do everything to bring peace to the country, in vue of the holding of elections. According to the representative of the January 30 Agreement on the Presidential Transitional Council, “all members” of this structure are concerned by this phenomenon which is ravaging the country.

In his improvised speech immediately after his appointment as president of the CPT, the former senator said he recognized the scale of the crisis. As proof of their determination to restore a security climate in Haiti, Edgard Leblanc mentioned the Council’s recent meeting with the police, PNH/FAd’H.

“In the coming days or weeks, we will send positive signals regarding measures to combat insecurity,” said the coordinator of the Organization of the People in Struggle, emphatically emphasizing that the Haitian people have suffered too much.

Specifying that it holds a coordinating function within the Presidential Transitional Council and that its decisions will be taken with complete transparency, EL promised to hand over power to an elected president on February 7, 2026.
