Designated to represent the REN on the Presidential Council, René Jean Jumeau announced, this Monday, March 25, 2024, his withdrawal from the transitional structure.
The person concerned has already written to Caricom to inform of his decision, which he says he took after consultation with his team.
Since this morning, an old tweet from journalist Robenson Geffrard, citing the Superior Court of Auditors which indexes René Jean Jumeau as one of the squanderers of PetroCaribe funds, had gone viral on social networks. According to certain reports, this is what would be the basis for the withdrawal of the former minister under the Martelly/Lamothe administration.
