“The hands that held the knife” is the title of the next documentary film by Haitian filmmaker Raoul Peck. Soon on our screens, this film traces a set of conditions of the assassination of former Haitian president Jovenel Moïse and is also intended to expose Haiti’s relations with the United States.

After the production of Robenson Lauvince “July 7” which retraces the life of the former president, this personality will reappear in the film sector. This time, under the direction of Raoul Peck, in a broader dimension.

According to the aforementioned newspaper, the next documentary will feature an interview with a fugitive who was present at the time of the assassination. This film aims to expose certain aspects of Haitian politics, particularly with regard to Haiti’s links with the United States.

Furthermore, the glaring corruption in commerce in the Caribbean will be addressed and reasons will be revealed regarding the control of gangs supported by oligarchs, again according to the same source.

The film is in production and the scenes take place in several countries such as Haiti, United States, Canada. That doesn’t stop Raoul from being excited to deliver it already. According to his words, he suffers from a great desire to share his knowledge with the country, distancing him a little from routines.

“I look forward to telling the true story of my country beyond the usual exotic clichés and absurd clickbait,” he tells Variety (quoted by Loop Haiti).

Velvet Films, produced by the Port-au-Prince native, is responsible for the film production. The release date is not yet known but it should be remembered that a promising appointment is now classified in the cinematographic world. You just have to wait.
