A shooting that occurred on Friday March 22, 2024, in a concert at Crocus City Hall, near Moscow, Russia, left at least 40 dead and 140 injured, according to the latest figures put forward by European media. According to the Russian security service FSB, it was a terrorist attack orchestrated by armed men in camouflage, claimed by the “Islamic State” group.

THE HAITI FACTOR, March 22, 2024._Russian President Vladimir Putin faced his first affront on Friday March 22, 2024, a week after his re-election for a 5th term.

In the middle of the day, armed men in camouflage burst into the Crocus City Hall concert hall, killing at least 40 participants and injuring no less than 145 others.

The events occurred near Moscow, declared the Russian security service FSB, denouncing an attack by terrorists who also set fire to the hall which was hosting the show of the rock group “Russian Picnic” until the roof collapsed.

Health authorities confirmed the hospitalization of 115 people including 5 children on a list of 145 who left injured. They were rescued by dozens of fire trucks, ambulances and other emergency vehicles.

Some Russian media suggested the attackers fled in several vehicles before special forces and riot police arrived.

In a statement released by its Aamaq news agency, the Islamic State group said it attacked a large gathering in the Moscow suburb of Krasnogorsk, killing and injuring hundreds of people.

In response, Russian authorities, notably the Mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin, described the tragedy as a “huge tragedy”. He said state authorities have opened a terrorism investigation.

An indictment of kyiv!

For his part, Dmitry Medvedev, vice-president of the Russian Security Council, declared that “if Kiev’s involvement in the attack on the concert hall is proven, everyone involved must be hunted down and killed mercilessly, including the state officials who committed such an attack.”

Ukraine denies involvement in attack

Mykhailo Podolyak, advisor to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, on the other hand, denied Ukraine’s involvement in the attack on the concert hall.

“Ukraine has never resorted to terrorist methods,” he said on X. “Everything in this war will be decided only on the battlefield,” he wrote.
