Kenya Police have arrested the police agency’s chief inspector, Joel Warui Githaiga, for his involvement in the illegal sale of ammunition to criminals. According to information reported by the Kenyan media The Kenya Times, another police officer working for the anti-stock theft unit, Martin Murimi, was also arrested.
The two accomplices were presented before a court which requested four days of police custody for the accused, from April 22 to this Friday, April 26, 2024.
They must appearthis Friday, April 26, 2024, before the Kibera court, after their custody, according to a press release from the national police service of the African country, with a view to answering for their illicit activities.
Pending the conclusions of the investigation opened by the Kenyan justice system into this matter, the two officers were suspended from their duties.
