Discussions continue between the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) and the Prime Minister around the formation of the next government.
According to information available to us, Garry Conille is in favor of reducing the number of ministries to 13 instead of 18. Several ministries will be merged.
The Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) and Prime Minister Garry Conille reached an agreement on the distribution of 13 ministerial positions. This agreement comes after this series of discussions marked by differences of opinion on the formation of the cabinet.
According to sources close to the Executive, Prime Minister Conille had initially proposed merging several ministries in order to reduce their number, an initiative which did not achieve consensus among the members of the CPT. This disagreement was at the center of intense discussions this Tuesday.
At the same time, a close friend of the Prime Minister declared that the latter was considering making suggestions concerning the profiles of ministers.
The government of Haiti is the executive body of the country. The Ministerial Cabinet, the collective decision-making body of the entire government reporting to the Prime Minister’s Office, is composed of the Prime Minister and several ministers.
