The premises of the Office for the Monetization of Development Aid Programs were searched by sworn agents of the ULCC.

On its X account, the Anti-Corruption Unit informs that this Saturday, July 27, 2024, sworn agents of the institution searched the premises of the Office for the Monetization of Development Aid Programs (BMPAD).

“In this operation, investigators affixed seals and seized documents necessary for their investigation,” the ULCC continues in its publication.

Sworn ULCC agents searched BMPAD premises
It must be said that ULCC agents searched the BMPAD premises, as part of an ongoing investigation after a legal case opposing the Haitian State to the company PREBLE-RISH. In July 2023, an American court had ordered the Haitian State to pay the sum of 50 million dollars to this company, for breach of contract during the 2019-2020 fiscal year.

Through a letter dated July 25, 2024, addressed to the Director General of BMPAD, Ignace Saint-Fleur Fils-Aimé, the Anti-Corruption Unit had asked him, within a period not exceeding 48 hours, to communicate several documents such as the complete file of the call for tender (DAO) concluded between BMPAD and PREBLE-RISH for the acquisition of petroleum products on behalf of the Haitian State; supporting documents for all payments made to this company under this contract; receipt and delivery notes for the petroleum products ordered…
