Holding of a meeting by the CPT on the establishment of the National Security Council
In order to facilitate the establishment of the National Security Council (CNS), the Presidential Transitional Council held an important meeting this Wednesday, May 22 with national experts, professionals from the diaspora as well as other important personalities, in compliance with articles 25, 26 and 27 of the Agreement of April 3, 2024.
A press note published by the Presidency underlines that the main objective of this meeting was to define an effective response to the various aspects of the security crisis that the country is experiencing in recent times.
“Under this Agreement, the CNS is responsible for defining and overseeing arrangements for international security assistance, in accordance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 2699”
In addition, the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) specifies that the mission of the CNS will be accomplished in close consultation with all stakeholders concerned, as well as national and international experts. He reaffirms his commitment to working together with all partners to guarantee security and stability in the country.
