The Haitian National Police (PNH) arrests a member of the gang led by “Boutba”.
The National Police have made significant progress in their fight against organized crime with the arrest of Louis-Jeune Jean, also known as “Blanc”, in the locality of Marbial, South-East department. Acting on precise information, police authorities apprehended this 31-year-old individual on the afternoon of Saturday May 4, 2024, said a note made public on Facebook by the institution.
According to PNH, Louis-Jeune Jean is an active member of the gang led by the formidable “Boutba”, which operates at the southern entrance to the Haitian capital, particularly in Mariani. Involved in illegal activities such as the imposition of forced tolls, he was part of the team responsible for this harmful practice through which bandits extract money from users and drivers using National Highway #2.
According to this note, during the arrest of Louis-Jeune Jean, a considerable amount of one hundred and thirteen thousand five hundred gourdes (113,500 gdes) was found in his possession. This sum was confiscated by the authorities as part of the ongoing investigation.
