The Haitian National Police received equipment including armored vehicles offered by the American Government.
The Haitian National Police informed this Saturday, May 11, 2024, that the Director General of the PNHFrantz Elbé, accompanied by the American Ambassador, Mr. Dennis Bruce Hankins, and airport authorities, went to Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince to receive a batch of equipment including armored vehicles offered by the American Government as part of the project to strengthen the operational capacities of the PNH.
It is also underlined in a note from the police institution that this day also marks the beginning of the gradual resumption of commercial flights with the arrival at Port-au-Prince Airport of one (1) cargo flight and the organization of two (2) Sunrise Company flights, thanks to the security measures taken, which are increasingly being strengthened to facilitate the resumption of activities at the Airport.
The police institution specifies that the improvement of the security environment at the airport is the result of the combined efforts of different local authorities and American cooperation.
