Through a press release the American government calls on the Prime Minister of the transitional government, Doctor Garry Conille and the Presidential Transitional Council to act quickly to appoint a credible, accountable and inclusive government and Provisional Electoral Council in order to achieve free and fair elections and restore security and provide basic services to all Haitians.
The United States urges the Presidential Council and new Prime Minister Garry Conille to work collaboratively and engage all stakeholders in support of the Haitian people, who continue to experience the brutality of horrific gang violence.
The United States looks forward to working with Haiti to resolve the multifaceted crisis that persists in the country, including through the deployment of the Multinational Security Support Mission (MMSS).
