Due to gang violence in Haiti, the U.S. Embassy is coordinating assisted flights for U.S. citizens to leave the country

In a press release sent to the Juno7 editorial staff, the United States Embassy announced the coordination of assisted flights for the departure of American citizens to Haiti by non-commercial means. This decision follows gang violence in the metropolitan region of Port-au-Prince.

“The United States Embassy coordinates assisted flights for the departure of American citizens to Haiti by non-commercial means. Only U.S. citizens with appropriate identification documents will be allowed to board these flights”we read in the press release from the American embassy.

Additionally, US citizens must complete the “Crisis support form” to inform the United States Embassy of their request for assistance if they have not already done so, the embassy statement noted.

Those concerned can find the said form via this link made available by the United States Embassy https://mytravel.state.gov/s/crisis-intake

Remember that several foreign citizens, including French and Americans, have already left the country on charter flights since the outbreak of violence in the Haitian capital.
