A foggy sky and windy weather in certain neighborhoods and a strong feeling of heat throughout the afternoon… these are the predictions of the Haiti Hydrometeorological Unit for the city of Port-au-Prince this Friday, June 28 2024.
Port-au-Princiens will feel the intense heat with a maximum temperature which could reach up to 36 degrees Celsius, if we rely on the latest issue of the UHM, published this morning.
However, it is possible that a few drops of rain will fall on certain districts of the Haitian capital, where the temperature will not drop below 26 degrees Celsius during the day.
For other departments, such as the South, it is very likely that they will receive showers due to a humid air mass, associated with the diurnal cycle which influences the weather conditions in the region.
Showers are expected mainly in the afternoon and evening.
In addition, the UHM informs that a large area of disorganized showers, located to the West-Southwest of the Cape Verde Islands, has a 90% chance of transforming into a depression or tropical storm over the next 48 hours.
The UHM says it is closely monitoring the evolution of the meteorological phenomenon to keep the Haitian population informed.
