Edgard Leblanc Fils is therefore the coordinator (president?) of the presidential transition council.

Born in 1955 in Miragoâne, in the Nippes department, Edgard Leblanc Fils began his public commitment by founding a youth association in his hometown in 1976.

He was an important actor in the democratic protest movement from 1986 to 1990, then co-founded the ORGANIZATION OF THE PEOPLE IN STRUGGLE (OPL) Party in 1991.

Elected senator of the Republic during the 1995 elections, representative of the department of Grand’Anse, he chaired the Senate and the National Assembly from 1995 to 2000. During this period, he played a key role in the modernization of the system Haitian politics, notably by inaugurating the documentation center of the Parliament in 1998 and by strengthening interparliamentary cooperation.

Member of the National Directorate of the OPL, he assumed the function of General Coordinator upon the death of Gérard Pierre-Charles in October 2004. He was re-elected to this position during the party’s national congresses in 2004 and 2008. In 2009 , he was one of the founders of the PATRIOTIC ALTERNATIVE FOR PROGRESS AND DEMOCRACY political coalition.

An engineer by training, Edgard Leblanc Fils had a career in transport before entering politics. He was also a volunteer educator, contributing to the training of young people in the Nippes region.

As a senator, he actively promoted youth and women within his party and encouraged skills from all backgrounds for the preservation and consolidation of the common good.
