In a press release dated July 2, 2024, the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) praised the courage and commitment of the police officers in general and in particular those of the South Task Force, set up by the High Command of the PNH to counter the action of armed gangs in the commune of Gressier, regain control of the Police Station, rid the area of the bandits’ influence and allow displaced persons to return home.
“Under the leadership of Director General Rameau Normil, Commander-in-Chief of the PNH, the bandits were quickly routed. Task Force South stopped their arrogance, recovered the bulldozer they were using and secured the police station.
They think they can create a diversion in the ranks of the PNH by attacking, this Tuesday
July 2, at the Carrefour police station. They are wrong. The entire National Police is on alert and will continue its mission of tracking down the gangs until they are completely dismantled,” rejoices the CPT which, according to more than one, has no authority.
Further, the Presidential Transitional Council says it supports the PNH in its merciless fight against the armed gangs that are sowing mourning in Haitian families.
