ECCREDHH takes note of the installation of the members of the CPT
The Ensemble of Competent Citizens in Search of Equality of Human Rights in Haiti being a credible structure in the promotion of human rights and the rule of law, takes note of the installation of the Council Transitional Presidential on March 24, 2024.
No one is unaware that the de facto Government led by Ariel Henry has plunged the country into a multidimensional crisis through which righting the boat requires responsible, honest, determined men and women who know the proper functioning of the state.
That being said, none of these established members would dare say that they did not understand the extent of the situation. All public institutions are dysfunctional so the State is at its lowest level. Therefore, you have the heavy responsibility to restore order and security through governance focused on visible results.
Furthermore, we insist that legal action must be taken against Ariel Henry and other members of the resigned Ministerial cabinet for crimes committed and flagrant violations of human rights.
The Ensemble of Competent Citizens in Search of Equality of Human Rights in Haiti demands from the CPT de facto that it take all emergency measures to meet all sectors with a view to finding an outcome to this multiple crisis and coup opens the way to discussions which will bring the country towards respect for the laws of the Republic and the establishment of the rule of law.
