For several months, the goalkeepers of the national team have no longer been active. In this sense, the Haitian Football Federation and the coach are looking for several binational goalkeepers to compensate for this shortcoming.

The 28-year-old goalkeeper of Haitian origin, Maureen Saint-Léger, agrees to join the ranks of the Haitian selection. Having passed through Monteux, Marseille, Yzeure, she has played at OGC Nice since the 2018-2019 season until today. She would be an important reinforcement in Gonçalves’ squad and would probably compete at this level while waiting for the arrival of Océane Toussaint.

Born in France to Haitian parents, the current goalkeeper of the French second division club OGC Nice gives her verbal agreement to represent the Haitian selection. It is the player who confirms the information to a member of the daily newspaper Sport Passion Info. Indeed, Maureen actually confirmed to us that she is of Haitian origin and capable of defending the national 11.

The player’s mother is of Limbean origin in the north of Haiti. While waiting for the administrative paperwork to be completed, Haitian supporters can hope to soon see the goalkeeper at work in the Grenadières cages.
