Statistics between French Guiana and Haiti

By Mythsouka Jean-Philippe

Haiti and French Guiana are preparing to do battle on the field today in a friendly match with a taste of revenge for the Haitians. With only four previous meetings between these two teams, the statistics speak for themselves.

Past confrontations have mainly been dominated by French Guiana, who have won two of the four matches, while Haiti has only won one. Their last clash was in 2016, where French Guiana impressed with a 5-2 win in the Caribbean Nations Cup qualifiers.

However, the Haitians will certainly be keen to reverse the trend, particularly by remembering their only victory against French Guiana in 2012, during a friendly match where they won 2-1. This success was marked by notable individual performances, notably from Mechack Jérôme, Duckens Nazon, Jeff Louis, Jean Sony Alcenat and Walson Augustin, all scorers in their previous confrontations.

With six goals scored in total, Haiti does not have to be ashamed of its offensive efficiency, but will nevertheless have to remain solid defensively to counter a team from French Guiana which has shown its ability to score with nine goals to its credit.

This friendly match represents an opportunity for Haiti to showcase its progress and measure itself against a competitive team from the region. Supporters are eager to see if their national team can turn the tide and add another victory to their record against French Guiana.
