May 24, 2024 marks the 38th anniversary of the Haitian Sports Press Association (ASHAPS). On this occasion, the association expresses its gratitude and recognition to its members who, despite the current socio-political and economic challenges, continue to show remarkable courage. This day is also dedicated to thanking past leaders and supporters who have worked tirelessly to maintain the integrity and dignity of ASHAPS.

The current ASHAPS committee witnesses the sacrifices made by its members and remains committed to following in their footsteps. However, the country’s persistent crisis hinders the capacity for action and the implementation of ambitious programs for the advancement of sports journalism in Haiti.

On this special day, ASHAPS is proud to announce the creation of an award intended to promote skills and stimulate creativity in the journalistic field. This prize, named “Alix Carré”, in homage to the first secretary general of ASHAPS, will reward the best reports on the theme “Sports journalism as a vector for the promotion of unity in Haiti”.
