After more than two months of suspending its flights to and from Port-au-Prince, American Airlines has resumed service. Indeed, this Thursday, May 30, 2024, a plane from the American airline landed on the tarmac of Toussaint Louverture international airport.
According to available information, another American Airlines flight is expected in Haiti this Friday, May 31, 2024. Which, obviously, marks a partial resumption of flight operations in the country, suspended due to the reactivation of armed gangs (end of February 2024).
While waiting for the full resumption of air operations, the Haitian state is continuing the demolition of houses adjacent to the airport, which represent a real danger for its operations.
