Prime Minister Ariel Henry announced his resignation this evening of March 11, 2024, Loop Haiti learned shortly before midnight.
According to our sources, Dr. Henry, who is so far blocked outside the country, announced his resignation to the government during a council of ministers organized via Zoom.
His departure was confirmed by CARICOM, which said it “took note” of the resignation of the head of government, during the closing ceremony of the high-level meeting on the Haitian crisis organized this Monday in Kingston, Jamaica.
“The government that I lead will resign immediately after the installation of the Council [présidentiel]”, the Prime Minister said in a pre-recorded address to the nation released shortly after midnight.
