Haiti: Appointment of Michel Patrick Boisvert as interim Prime Minister

The resigning Prime Minister Ariel Henry, by formalizing his resignation, appointed on Wednesday April 24, 2024, his interim replacement. This is the Minister of the Economy and Finance, Michel Patrick Boisvert. His appointment was confirmed via a decree promulgated in the newspaper “Le Moniteur” following a Council of Ministers.

THE HAITI FACTOR, April 25, 2024._It’s official, Ariel Henry is no longer the Acting Prime Minister of Haiti. After 2 months outside Haiti, he officially left his position as he announced on March 7.

From Los Angeles, in the United States, he submitted his resignation and that of his Government to the members of the Council of Ministers through correspondence sent to them on Wednesday April 24, 2024.

In the first correspondence concerning the Government, the neurosurgeon wrote the following: “ Ladies and Gentlemen, members of the Council of Ministers, hereby, taking note of the state of affairs, I present the resignation of my government ».

In presenting the resignation of his Government, Ariel Henry wished to congratulate all the members of the government, the collaborators, the public administration, the security forces, all those who, he said, had accompanied him during this patriotic approach.

According to his writings, his government served the nation in difficult times. For this, he said he thanked all those who had the courage to face such challenges with him.

A doctor by trade, he says he sympathizes with the losses and suffering endured by his fellow Haitians during this period.

« On behalf of the government, I thank the Haitian people for the opportunity to serve our country with integrity, wisdom and honor,” he concluded at first

In the second correspondence concerning him, he declared that he was leaving office for personal reasons: “ Ladies and Gentlemen, members of the Council of Ministers, as authorized by Article 165 of the 1987 Constitution, following the resignation of my government, I confirm to you that for personal reasons, I have chosen to withdraw immediately of the post of Prime Minister and all ministerial responsibilities.”

Finally, he persisted and signed that Haiti will be reborn!

By submitting his resignation, he appointed, following a Council of Ministers, Michel Patrick Boivert, interim Prime Minister, pending the formation of a new Transitional Government. His appointment was confirmed through a decree published in “Le Moniteur”.

Also Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Boisvert has held the position of Acting Prime Minister since February 25, following Ariel Henry’s trip to Guyana and Kenya.

Appointed new interim Prime Minister, an amplification of the Order will be given to him, it can be read.
