Haiti – Security: Suriname ready to send police and soldiers to Haiti

Sunday April 5, 2024, the President of Suriname, Chan Santokhi, announced that his Government was ready to send soldiers and police officers to Haiti to assist the Multinational Security Support Mission (MMSS) in support of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) in its fight against armed gangs “We will support our sister Nation in the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). According to Santokhi this contingent is prepared by the Ministers of Defense and Police, and the Minister of Justice, in collaboration with the police and the National Army of Suriname.
