July 1, 1915: led by American Admiral Caperton, the Americans present themselves as the protectors of the property and lives of North Americans and foreigners residing in Haiti. This force would have received orders to urgently go to Port-au-Prince on July 27. On the 28th, the Americans officially occupied Haiti.
