On Monday, May 13, 2024, Dominican President Luis Abinader insisted that his country will only provide Haiti with humanitarian aid in the area of health. Thus, the Dominican Head of State cuts short rumors which would suggest that the Dominican Republic is willing to collaborate with Haiti in the military field.

“We reiterate that we are ready to provide humanitarian aid in terms of health services, we will not give any other assistance or collaboration in terms of military matters, just in terms of humanitarian aid in terms of our hospitals , in this, obviously, we will do it,” declared Luis Abinader, during La Semanal.

Remember that the United States, for its part, has already provided Haiti with military aid in anticipation of the arrival of the Multinational Force in the country. By this month (May), the first Kenyan officers should arrive in Haiti.
